The more fat diet
It’s that time of year when people start to think about shedding some pounds they gained from the holidays. I know that is what was on my mind when I picked up this book. Working through the first chapter, I am a bit skeptic. The Keto diet is described as a high fat diet, which has me worried. I know that fat has 9 calories while carbs and protein has far fewer. Still, I read on to hear about how this diet would work and look. The book then dives into some massive medical speak. (I did not keep up) What I understood was that fat is easier for the body to burn and tells your brain you’re full faster. I think there is another key buried here. In Chapter 3 the author discusses what you should have and what you should avoid. The summation potentially being, stay away from high-processed sugary foods. Instead, go with low-processed healthy fat foods (nuts, eggs, avocados, etc.). I think this was the chapter that brought me on board with this diet. The additional chapters continued the trend by discussing different recipes. The more I think about this diet, the more it makes sense. You get to eat foods that most diets restrict (like cheese) but you are told to stay away from sugars. I think this is a fantastic book and I would recommend it to start a healthy lifestyle.
